The first new buddy icons for this site in ages. They'll probably piss off a lot of people. You should get one now.
Thomas Jay can you make an Icon that says "I do not have to like my prime minister" (with a maple leaf background) to love america?
Posted by: Tanya at March 26, 2003 11:42 AMYour such a little bastard. How dare you claim to love this country and call yourself an American? You should be ashamed of yourself. People detest war because people die, but how do you think we got this land to begin with? I've also read some of the other crap you have on this poor web site of yours. Have you forgotten the feeling when our country was under attack and our people blown away like they were nothing? Do you have no sense of nationalism? In case you didn't know (which I doubt because of your tiny intellect) Saddam Hussein has torture chambers, rape squads, and has taken families hostage to make their men fight harder in the war. What kind of crap is that? And did you know that Hussein executed two U.S. troops on live Iraqi television? I don't think you do because of your stupid and ignorant comments on your so-called web site. If you don't like the president or agree with his smart decisions to protect our country because Hussein has nuclear warheads and biological weapons (not to mention that he doesn't like us anyways), then leave this country. Go live in a communist country and see it from another poor country's perspective. If you think liberaly and are stubborn, then you can kiss my all American white ASS!
Posted by: American at March 28, 2003 12:38 AM"People detest war because people die, but how do you think we got this land to begin with?"
We stole it from the Native Americans.
"Do you have no sense of nationalism?"
Yes I do, which is why I am against the Bush Regime and all it stands for. They are systematically stripping us of civil liberties in the name of fighting terrorism. But you must be blind to that. Too worried about the terrorists to care about your own freedom.
"And did you know that Hussein executed two U.S. troops on live Iraqi television?"
Which wouldn't have happened had we not invaded Iraq. You seem to forget that we are aggressor in this war. Was Iraq supposed to just lay down their weapons and let us march straight to Baghdad? Oh wait, that's EXACTLY what our military was expecting. They thought the Iraqi military would be surrendering in droves. Our military was caught offguard because Iraq's military is actually FIGHTING BACK.
Now don't get me wrong. It saddens me when I hear about our troops dying in Iraq. But it pisses me off that we're there for all the wrong reasons. the best way to support our troops is to bring them home before we find out the hard way that Saddam does have biological weapons. Their deaths will be on the hands of people like you.
"If you don't like the president or agree with his smart decisions to protect our country..."
Smart? War should be the last option, not the first.
"because Hussein has nuclear warheads and biological weapons"
None of which can even reach us if they exist.
"(not to mention that he doesn't like us anyways)"
That's a given, but he wouldn't be stupid enough to provoke us and give us a reason to attack him.
"then leave this country. Go live in a communist country..."
Why? Because I'm exercising my First Ammendment right to free speech? You're the one who sounds like you belong with the "Commies". I hear China's nice this time of year. Actually, they haven't done anything to deserve the likes of you.
"If you think liberaly and are stubborn, then you can kiss my all American white ASS!"
As if there were any doubt you were white.

"HE TREATS THE UNITED NATIONS LIKE IT'S A JOKE"
Were you referring to Dubya or Saddam?
A REAL American wouldn't be willing to let terrorists be responsible for the stripping of his or her civil rights. If our way of life changes because of them, they've won.
Way to throw in the towel.

Posted by: WAKE UP at May 30, 2003 01:33 PMhey man, love the site, keep up the good work. You are a true American, not all these blind dumbasses who sit around and wave an American flag and say, "Well hell yeah, if its on Fox news its gotta be true, well I gotta go down to Wal-Mart and get another American flag. Hey, I wonder what car I could get that would get the least gas mileage, cause thats what REAL Americans do."
Posted by: erick at June 13, 2003 08:45 PMI hate ignorant people. The ignorant, blind, falsely "patriotic" people who posted comments before me are really dumb. Of course arguing here will have no effect because everyone who disagrees with the opinions of this website owner is an ignorant fool without the mental capacity to realize or understand anything that isnt spoon-fed to them by the media. Well here's some spoon-feeding for ya, maybe you'll pick something up (doubt it). War is bad. Saddam wouldn't have done shit to us if we didn't attack. The war is over and we have found no WMD, no soldiers used chemical or biological weapons during the war (Good call, Bushy). George dubya is a moron (he even looks stupid) who can't handle reading a teleprompter and picking his nose at the same time. In response to the comment about Saddam treating the UN as if it were a joke, what do you think our glorious leader George dubya did by rejecting the UN's requests for more time disarming Iraq and blatantly opting to oust Hussein in Iraq without the UN's approval? 'nuff said about that one. "A REAL American wouldn't be willing to let terrorists be responsible for the stripping of his or her civil rights. If our way of life changes because of them, they've won." I couldn't have said it better myself. Okay that's enough I guess.

Posted by: Van Wilder at November 29, 2003 10:21 PMi have had a fun time reading all these arguements, although, i dont understand joesph stalins message, was there a point to it? One thing we should all be able to agree on is that Joseph Stalin was a horrible man, and so was Saddam Hussein, which is why people call him So Damn Insane, hahahaha. anyway, "falsely "patriotic" people," if there are so many falsely patriotic people out there, then who are the TRUE patriots? Certainly not the people who vote for the war in iraq then change there mind when things dont go the way they want to. "what do you think our glorious leader George dubya did by rejecting the UN's requests for more time disarming Iraq," well Larry, good ole Saddam has had over ten years to dissarm, after TEN years,i think its time for some dissarming, and Saddam isnt gonna do it himself. You really shouldnt make fun of bush though for picking his nose, or choking on a pretzel, or whatever, because many librals "best president ever" bill clinton embarrased the nation with his many sex scandals then tries to cover it up by pointing his finger at me, common, lets stick to the issues... oh yea, somebody said somehthing about even if saddam does have nukes and WMD's then they wouldnt even reach us anyway. that was preety stupid, i guess that person doesnt care about anyone else in the world, oh and some time we're gonna have to go to war north korea because the great bill gave them the fuel to run there nuclear labs and reactors on a treaty that they wont use them on WMD's. hahaha, i bet even bill knew that that treaty was a joke.
anyway, im curious to see all the replys the librals have to say, and im sure they're be lots so keep em commin so i can keep on arguein
According to Thomas Jefferson, one of our founding fathers, "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism." Blindly listening to the government is NOT demonstrating your patriotic duty. Remember: you can't fly with only a right wing.
Posted by: SR at January 9, 2004 10:28 PMwhere can i find communist buddy icons?
Posted by: Commie at January 16, 2004 08:56 PMHey TJ, I got a few problems with your post.
"We stole it from the Native Americans." -
I agree with you 100%
"I am against the Bush Regime and all it stands for. They are systematically stripping us of civil liberties in the name of fighting terrorism. But you must be blind to that. Too worried about the terrorists to care about your own freedom."
Name some civil rights the Bush administration is stripping us of. And before you say "Patriot Act," I suggest you read the actual act first.
"War should be the last option, not the first."
I only have DoD Secret clearance, and I know there's a lot more to this than you can imagine. So how do you know this war wasn't the last option? How do you know we didn't stop him from committing a major terrorist act?
"None of which can even reach us if they exist."
How do you know? If he has been hiding these weapons, how hard is it to hide one ICBM engine? You think he wouldn't keep these weapons, even though he has fulfilled NONE of his UN obligations besides letting a few inspectors in to inspect several ANNOUNCED areas?
The bottom line is this: Saddam was required to give us proof of the destruction of his NBC (nuclear, biological, chemical - for you people who haven't found the honor to serve your country) weapons in order to comply with all UN resolutions (many mentioned in Resolution 1441). He didn't. I saw a re-run of Conan from the beginning of the war the other night when he interviewed Al Gore. Gore even admitted the Clinton Administration new Iraq had the capabilities to create WMD's, and even HAD INTELLIGENCE that the country POSSESED these weapons. The UN sent 8 - 12 inspectors into one entire country to find these things. They only inspect certain sights. Of course we aren't going to find anything substantial. And for the record, I think President Bush knows they're not in Iraq anymore. I think he knows exactly where they are. But let's say they were moved to Syria, for example. Why would the administration announce this? So we can go into another war with a country that REALLY isn't a direct threat to us? Riddle me that.
Just shut up, every system has flaws whether its dimocracy, communism, dictatorship, Monarchy, Anarchy. But they all have their ups to. Yes it was wrong invading Iraq, Yes Saddam is a jerk off who desrved it. No one is gonna have a perfect true side. You have o deal with the fact that everything has bad things everything has good things. This debate will just rage on neither side loosing or winning. You also can't call people morons or "fool" in a debate and expect to win, so far tj has seemed like the smartest one here. I'm not being anti-American or Anti-Iraq or anti-whatever. The hot tempered ignorant people in here have to just be quiet. You can't involve races in this (although some are scientificaly proven less evolved). So everyone get your facts straight keep emotions out of it and then we will have a fair good debate.

Kowboy, u only think that TJ is the best one here because he is liberal and so are u...
Posted by: JC at February 16, 2004 07:41 PMno, the only reason kowboy things TJ is the best is because he is one of the few who as actually kept his head. guess what people, yelling doesn't work in conversation and CAPS don't work in posts. seriously...if you can't discuss things intelligently than you not only dont deserve to post...you probably dont deserve to live...if fact it would be best if you didnt.
The world is overpopulated anyway...hell Malthus was right so thinning out our ranks would work. and that is NOT an argument for war, war kills indiscriminately, i just want to kill the ignorant.
Just an amused reader, amused at some of the idiocy here.
Bush reminds me of Andrew Jackson, and I'll say no more there.
As for the angry conservative, please, for the sake of well being, make yourself sound at least a little more intelligent. You are creating the foundation of unjust stereotypes of Americans.
I am sure you like Bush. I am also sure that you are Christian, heterosexual, caucasion, conservative, anti-feminist, etc.
Posted by: amusedreader at May 21, 2004 03:02 AMThank you for expressing your opinions. I find it hard to find someone who agrees with me on this topic, and its refreshing to find someone who does. I love america, and the ideals we originally stood for. No, I don't mean slavery; America once stood for freedom and the ability to be yourself and hold to your beliefs, no matter what they were (short of violence and the like, of course). Now we are passed off as agitators to the rest of the world. Unfortunately, Americans are subject to just as much stereotyping as Iranian, Iraqis, Afghanis and others from the middle east. This can happen when you are represented by a few who find themselves incompetent. While before we stood for freedom, we now wish to stop people's right to chose whom they marry and whether they hve a child or not.
Thank you again for your bold words.
* A note to those who criticize: (This does not pertain to those who write notes of polite disagreement) It is completely ridiculous to be rude. No one forced you to read this site. Foul language does not prove anything other than a lack of good vocabulary, and capitals just show laziness (ideas are better expressed intelligently than violently). If you can't be mature, then please at least try to learn from others here how to maintain a sense of dignity.
amusedreader, u are right about all those things i am christian, i am heterosexual, caucasion, conservative, but i am not anti feminist, or anti gay or anything like that. but, were u trying to make a point about stereotyping, and they u stereotype me?, if so, i think u proved a good point. stereo types are right most of the time, and while u cannot go around blurting out steroetypes, u can think them because they are useful. also,u probably stereotyped me and thought that i am against gay marriage, and wow, there is stereotyping right again. but i am not against gays having civil unions or haveing gays loving each other. but the problem with marriage is that it will lead to other stuff like gays adopting and all the gays wanting full marriage rights, which just cannot work.
Posted by: J.C. at July 18, 2004 07:58 PMAnyone who likes Bush is either worried about protecting their millions or is just uneducated. He is a complete joke. To me he is just a dry drunk. He isn't one bit worldly and doesn't care to be. He has trampled all over the United Nations, the Geneva Convention, and the US Constitution. The founding fathers must be rolling over in their graves.
A lot of ignorant Americans like to say "oh, well, we were attacked, we have to give up liberties". Well, thats bullcrap. The rules were written for a reason and without those rules what are we fighting to defend?
Furthermore, one topic at hand is the issue of dissent being anti-American. The problem is that Bush is running this country in a fascist manner similar to Hitler. He has the country scared of a common foe and has convinced people that if you aren't with him then you are anti-American. Well, that's the same thing Hitler did. It works great if you are the leader but it is very anti-American.
Posted by: Eric at September 20, 2004 12:41 PMHAHA i love this website. it totally kicks ass. not because it's democratic, or because the republicans are trying to fight back in a pretty poor matter, but because it's just funny, honestly continue posting, it's the greatest website i've almost ever seen. NOTE TO THE REPUBLICANS: you guys suck at debating, so just stop. nobody reading this website cares what u think anways.

Posted by: John at October 19, 2004 12:23 AMjust figured i'd drop in my two cents on the whole iraq good/bad issue.
Good reasons to invade Iraq alone:
-If it's proven Iraq has weapons capable of harming Americans.
-Iraq is directly responsible for an attack on the US.
Good reasons to invade Iraq with other nations:
-If Iraq -might- have weapons capable of harming other nations (beyond reasonable doubt).
-Iraq was pretty high up on the human rights violations list. Still under other nations, including big #1 North Korea, whom the US is still at war with.
-Hussein still refuses to comply with UN resolutions.
Bad reasons to invade Iraq:
-Saddam Hussein is an evil man (going to war on an ideological point, never good).
-Saddam Hussein was linked to bin Laden (actually it was with several wealthy Saudis, but the Bush administration doesn't mention this because of the Bush/Saudi ties).
(The above are by no means exhaustive, but they're the first few that came to mind)
Reasons those of us on the left hate the war:
-Bush started a war in AFGHANISTAN to pursue Osama bin Laden, major funder and leader of Al-Qaeda (sp?). After getting no closer to finding bin Laden, Bush starts a war in IRAQ with the intent of changing regimes because he thought there were significant ties between Saddam Hussein and Al-Qaeda (sp?). When it was proved that there weren't, he didn't address this fact.
-During a time when the economy can't support such a large scale war (I'm not mentioning the problems at home, just focusing on what seems to be the key issue on the page) Bush offers tax-cuts, gouging a hole in the economy that will be tough to recover from. Granted, these tax cuts did get the economy rolling again with minimal fuss after our recession. However, continuing these cuts when the money is desperately needed is just pandering to voters -- what's best for the country should come before what's best for the politician.
Just felt I ought to explain us to you on the right -- We aren't anti-american. We aren't pro-terrorism. We aren't entirely anti-war, we just happen to need intelligent reasons to end so many lives. We don't sit back and hope the US loses this war to teach Bush a lesson.
We just like to think. If we're going to be given reasons to go to war and sacrifice so many American lives in order to end so many more Iraqi lives, we want those reasons to make a little more sense than what we've been given so far. And, when things start to go sour and start to look like Viet Nam, we want our leader to step up and say that he fucked up. We want our leader to admit he's human. We want our leader to start making intelligent decisions regarding this war. Bush says there will not be a draft, but the military is heavily undermanned for a war going on in three countries (Iraq, Afghanistan, and that pesky border between North/South Korea). Kerry said that he would add to the military, and people thought it was political suicide implicating such a draft-esque measure. In fact, that's what made me vote for him today: He put his country before his career, something Bush has yet to do.
End rant.
George W. Bush is a moron. Kudos to you. Look at yourselves, national unity...follow one man right or wrong...I feel like I'm surrounded by cattle. But everyone loves Hitler...I mean Bush...
Posted by: . at November 8, 2004 12:07 AMSince when is Nationalism a good thing? Seriously, I can't wait for someone to say, "You aren't jingoistic enough, get out of my country." I love the way we have been blinded by the 9/11 catastrophies to just universally accept that the US is always right and if you disagree you are a liberal. What is happening to my beloved country. I lost several close people on 9/11, I have friends in the services and I still don't like Bush or his policies I think they are short sighted and in the near term "fighting terrorism" might appear a good idea. But in the long run we are leaving a trail of collateral damage across the continents, not to mention destroying our own credibility. Great site. Keep it up.
